Tamara here - Ruby, you still can join in this thread. This website is all about support. But the theme is "We have a Mission." It makes losing weight more enjoyable, gives us a sense of adventure, allows us to see outside our own little window into the world of exotic places [other member's home towns], and just gives us a free place to hang out. Meaning that people that stop by here can join in. All we say is, get a BOND girl name before signing in, so you have your Agent name [which also gives us a sense of a char in a book for more variety in our lives]. With that note. Raven. I closed the first thread for weighing in and just find the new thread and post there. You should find it not locked. I started this thread, though to some it was the end of last week, so they could see how well they are doing when they first come in to headquarters. Now, as on my news for today. My mission has held firm. I've really been watching my carbs and getting in my fluids. When I was at the Sleep Center last night I requests hot tea, which really helped on my sore throat. Today I followed through with my eating and accountability. I had to find foods that wouldn't trigger me to bring it up. When my throat got a tickle I couldn't get rid of and the cough suppressant didn't work, I have a can of diet caffeine free canada dry. But otherwise I try to get as much water in as I can to work with my water pills for my Edema. I am having my husband plan dinner, but I cubed the chicken. *grins* And yes, I felt lousy earlier so after lunch, I took a most needed nap. I hope this antibotic clicks in soon. *sighs* So. My meal plan today was [though a bit off the plan, but still healthy I thought] Breakfast: Scrambled eggs [salt substitute with pepper] 1 honey wheat english muffin [very little butter, just fruit strawberries preserves lightly casted upon the bread for fruit]. Lunch: 1 grilled cheese sandwich [wheat bread with veggies slices flavored american cheese made out of soy]. 1 bowl of chicken noodle soup [very very little broth due to sodium in broth]. Snack: 1 small organic apple Dinner: Chicken and Pasta [no yolks pasta] with light alfrado sauce baked in oven. Chicken cubed. Not sure on veggies yet. Will see if I can keep that at least down. ---------------------------------------------- As for movement. I had to go shopping to get my fruit, and drat, I STILL forgot to buy more eggs! OY! *slaps forehead* Will ask Mother in law to buy them tomorrow. But I did get out and do some walking comparing prices, ingredients, watching what they considered serving sizes, and also sodium/cholestrol/carbs/sugars. Grapefruits are on sale right now at Krogers. So I'll have that for breakfast tomorrow. Just frustrated I forgot my eggs again. That's the third time I thought about it! And on that note, I cheer all of you for your success stories, your stories of valor and courage, and your wisdom you are gaining from this mission with the rest of us. Until tomorrow... Good Evening Agents!
I am on a break at work and checking in for the evening. Late night tonight till 3am. Have all my food in our fridge for the night. Am more excited this week about getting smaller. I need to do this already. It is sooo great that we all have this support system and I also like how honest we all are with ourselves and each other about our slip ups.
Tamara-hope you are feeling better soon. For being under the weather you are doing great getting in your walks!
Skinny-Way to go! 8lbs and 6inches is AWESOME! Keep it up.
Sky-Congrats on 2lbs....any pound gone is great.
Raven-6lbs. Woohoo!! I knew you could do it!
Snuggle-Way to go, almost at your goal...and good job avoiding all the candy!
Ruby-I am so sorry about your kit...that stinks. You will have it soon and be losing right along with us!
Tinkerbell-I live in PA...the Wilkes-Barre Area, in the Northeast. Have fun putting your kit together, it is very informative.
Congrats everyone on making it to week 2. I hope to do better this week and see a bigger loss seeing how I cheated so much during the first week!

Hi Agents!
Wow, I had a close call last night. My husband and I had an appointment at 6:00pm and didn't have time for dinner before we left. By the time we finished our appointment and were on our way home, I was starving! First time I have felt this hungry on the plan. I had a weak moment and asked my husband if he wanted to cheat and go out to dinner to Bertucci's. He stayed strong for me, and said he was looking forward to that home made chicken soup I made for the diet. I said ok. When we got home, we had our soup and a cup of tea and snuggled on the couch. I was so happy I didn't cheat. I thanked him for helping me stay on the plan. I have not had a moment like that since I started, but I guess we all have those moments sooner or later. AND....the best part is that it paid off. I stepped on the scale this morning and lost 2 more pounds! I am now down 10 pounds and get to change my Avitar! Yeah!
You all sound like you are doing great. Keep up the good work. I'm proud of you all.
Tamara, I'm glad to hear you're getting better. It must be hard to eat to get better and try to stay on the plan at the same time. Take care of yourself, ok?
Well, I must run. I have lots to do today. I hope the enemy stays away for a while. That was a close call for me.
Skinny Camper, over and out.

I just got off the phone with Provida...my kit should be arriving tomorrow or Friday! Hooray. They are not charging me delivery (which is nice since the problem was not mine!). I'll be behind you all but I'll be starting soon!
Tinkerbell - where in PA are you?
Hope you all have made good decisions today!

Tamara here -
I am so glad we're such a great support system. I hope this message board spreads and we get more Agents. It shows the enemy we aren't a force to be played with.
This morning I had a pink grapefruit, but over all, it hasn't been a good day for me. *sighs*
I keep coughing and taking my meds, and noticed my bronchitis is turning into my asthma phase. That's not a good sign. I've not taken out my nebulizer yet, but getting close. Still coughing up alot and my throat still sore. I have no appetite.
Water at hand, I've been trying to keep at least fluids in me. My joints ache, but have been able to keep the fluid in my feet at bay by wearing anklet socks.
I slept most of the day away today. Still very tired.
I am so glad everyone though is hanging in there and doing what they need to be.
I won't let the enemy have the upper hand and am keeping my spirits up by reading here when I have a moment. You all are my inspiration. *smiles*
Have a great evening and a better tomorrow! Tamara signing out for now.

Hello Fellow Agents!!
I'm soooo excited!! My kit finally arrived late this afternoon, and I think I've got everything put together. I'm going to sit down and read it more after the kids are in bed...(hopefully shortly) I have a few questions, though, that maybe you all can help me with, which may speed along my starting process....
Is there such a thing as free food, and if so, where does it talk about it? Also....I've noticed that many people use chicken broth....where do I find that? Is it somewhere in the binder I put together? It talks about the recipe section, and what I have are some cards....is that what it means? Actually, I guess there are a bunch of cards.
Like I said, I haven't looked through everything.....I put together the binder, and looked through the exercises...then I looked through the infinite menu planner.....I haven't looked through the recipe cards.
Anyway....any help would be appreciated. As it turns out....I went to the doctor today and I have strep throat, plus they heard something odd in my heart, so hooked me up to a machine for an EKG, which is abnormal. So I'm off to see a cardiologist on Friday to have an echo-cardiogram. :' (My doctor said it would be okay to be on this plan (she's familiar with it) because it doesn't involve any crash dieting or anything.
I'll check back later to see if anyone has advice....I'm sooo happy to be joining you on this mission...finally!
Tinkerbell....signing off for now... ;D ;D

Sasha checking in for the night here. I think I know why this plan is different for me. I think all healthy eating plans are good and work, but my problem is addiction. With Atkins, I would just overdo it....eat way too much of the allowed foods. Weight Watchers is a wonderful plan but I would just eat and say I will count the points and before the middle of the day I would be almost to my total points for the day. But with this plan, it is like following a schedule with the amounts written out for you and you know you have to follow it. I think that is what is keeping me in line. And the 3hrs do come fast. I am having a good day today....I ate one M&M today after my morning snack...no problem. right back on plan for lunch.
As far as the kit goes, it does mention the free foods in your custom eating plan part. I am pretty sure all the veggies are free as long as they are listed under the veggie section. The veggies in the carb part like potatoes are not free....also on the provida website under the6wbmo part...then commonly asked questions...they answer the free foods question and explains what greens are. The recipe section is also in the same part of the book. There are only a few...for more ideas look here and on the Provida site. Good luck, I am glad you finally got your kit!!!!
Sasha signing out for now...keep up the good work girls!

Hi Agents!
Congrats! So glad everyone's doing so well and still so very enthusiastic! I'm feeling way better today and (unfortunately!) I've also regained much of my appetite as well! I'm trying not to go overboard and stick with the mini-meals schedule but it's so hard since I've been feeling so ravenous (and dehydrated)! Hopefully everything will balance out and I'll get back to "normal" in a couple more days so I can re-engage in the mission ;D
Ivana - who also practically doubled her water intake today, which means I've had close to two gallons of water already!

Tinkerbell - I think Sasha answered most of your questions but I wrote down the "free foods" from the Provida forum on the cover of my Infinite Menu Planner so I'll include that info below. As for chicken broth, I think everyone's just talking about the kind that you buy at the store in a can, although I like the big paper carton ones that you can reclose better than the cans. I haven't been able to find ANY sodium free chicken broth thus far after looking in 4 grocery stores (sometimes I REALLY miss living in California!) the best I've found one at 16% sodium I've even thought about making my own sodium-free chicken broth but I don't have a stock pot anymore! Also, does anyone know if it's even possible to find a cooking wine with no added salt? Since all the white and red cooking wines that I've seen at the market show "salt" as the second ingredient, I've been using my Chinese rice wine... which doesn't have an ingredients label! "Free" Foods: Tomatos Asparagus Onions Bell Peppers Mushrooms Cucumbers String Beans Summer Squash Zucchini Greens (lettuce, mustard greens, collard greens, kale, chard, watercress, okra, spinach, cabbage, endive, arugula, sprouts) In other words, you can have a salad at every meal if you'd like Ivana - out and eager to get back on the mission...

Just a quick add on about free foods... The Provida website also notes that free foods should be added to your meals and not used as in between snacks. Why, I don't know but that's what they've got posted...and I guess they would know....

Ivana,I don`t know of a cooking wine thats no sodium,I just use regular white wine and it has`nt been a problem.usually 1/2 in whole recipe. and as for chicken broth,I buy wylers low sodium its in a little box you add water to make it, if I need it for a soup ,I usually will mix a can of low sodium. that way the sodium adds a little flavor the box is like 5mg and the lowest can, I can find is 480, hope that helps, I hope everyone is doing well.I haven`t exercise yet today have a migraine so not feeling great. dutchess

Afternoon Agents!
I didn't start my day today until noon. With working until 3am, hubby didn't start work today until 12 and he let me sleep till 11:15. After all, I am working these extra hours so he can go hunting in Canada. Just have to complain here...I am wondering what logic men really use when they do something they know they shouldn't. He wakes me up the other morning and is like, I love you, I love you, you are the best wife...blah blah blah. Anyway, I am like, so what did you do? Well, he went online and used my BestBuy account to order a GPS two way radio thing for his trip. Like it's really gonna help him!!!! But what the heck is he thinking when he is doing it? Well she loves me...we are married...it will not result in divorce....I can handle her being mad at me for a while...it is worth a $300.00 GPS unit!!!!!!!
That must be it! GEESH!
Anyway, I weighed in today only to see that I didn't lose anything yesterday! I need to not weigh myself everyday...with having my period last week and still losing two pounds and then I weighed in yesterday and another two was gone, so not too bad so far! Good luck with your missions today agents. Do your best to avoid booby traps along the way!!!
Sasha
