Great idea Ann,
I am a stay at home mom/secretary to my husbands business. I also cannot afford those expensive gyms to go to. Plus 3 yrs ago I was robbed at gunpoint and am very skittish about going anywhere without my dh beside me.
I do like to walk but my treadmill died and I have not replaced it yet. Maybe I will get one for mothers day.
I try to eat well balanced meals cause I feel that being little would be great, I need to be healthy regardless of my size. My children are grown so I don't have the snacks around me all the time and that has helped a great deal, they just are not in the house to tempt me.
I like to plan out my meals first thing in the morning that way I don't mindlessly just start eating. I have my menu wrote down on the refidgerator so I see it when I go to get something to eat and it reminds me that I have my meals already planned.
Sorry I wrote you a book.

Write down the menu is a very good idea. Even if I do so I am still can not figure it out how many calories I should eat. My sister told me she heard some noises about a computer program that might help our home bodies. She will find more and let me know. So, please stay tuned......
Love, Ann

I don't stick to a planned calorie per day type thing. I just kind of know that some foods are lower in calories than others and even some high calorie foods are good for you.
I did have a favorite place that listed calories let me look and I will try to find it again. I will come back and post it whenI find it.
Talk later

My sister just fowarded me some informations. Check this out:
------------------------------------------------------------------ I got the NutriButler through the mail order. $9.99 + $2 shipping. Guess what? It is a little bit better than I expected because I was very skeptical. There are too many junk out there trying to trick us, right?!
Everything it says in the website was true and to my surprise they missed some features. Like I can enter my favored brand into the shopping list. I usually shop at pathmark (which is a supermarket chain in New York area). PathMark has its own brand, I am very glad that I can add all the brands I like into the shopping list. My kids love it too. They keep saying "cool" although they were not very happy when the software told them that they were at the risk of obese. Can you believe it, our house eat too much although we have always tried to get low fat foods. We are almost 900 cal over what we should eat each day. No wonder we could not loss lbs. We had a family 911 meeting to discuss how we can cut the 900 cal. The computer showed us tangible numbers. It is so straightforward and uses plain language. My kids don't argue with me anymore. They asked me to reduce the cookie size and switch to the lower calorie sweets. We all agreed that we don't eat deserts during weekday. We will treat ourselves on Saturday and then have a good hard workout. Another surprise is that the computer showed me I would burn much more calories by climbing stairs than walking. I will burn over 1000 kcal/ hr by going upstairs, not bad! Starting today, I will not use elevators if don't have to. We have decided that Every Saturday we shop with the computer together first before we head to the PathMark and we make sure to stick with the shopping list. At this point we like to keep our carb at 40% and Fat at 25% (I have to praise the computer again). You all are weight loss gurus, do you have any suggestions to our carb and fat levels??
I am thinking to get the nutributler toy to my mom as one of the Mother's day gift because she has a little weight issue also she and my dad has high cholesterols. My dad has diabetes too. The butler thing will be good for them. I believeā¦.. -----------------------------------------------------------------
I think this is pretty cool and I will ask for the website to find more...

That is very interestin. I am going to read it more thoroughly tomorrow. But it does seemlikeit could take some of the work and the guesswork out of your dieting.
